Awareness
Awareness
The Impulse Festival aims to create a discrimination-free environment within the scope of its own influence, where everyone feels welcome and respected. We reject discrimination – sexism, racism, anti-Semitism, misogyny, body shaming, ageism, ableism, transphobia, queerphobia, hatred, aggressive behaviour, sexual or verbal harassment, or discrimination of any kind.
This applies to teamwork, contact with artists, partners and other cultural practitioners, and to hosting during the festival period.
A small core team works at the Impulse Festival. Should any incidents occur during the Impulse Festival, we will agree on a course of action (including, where necessary, involving external support services) on a case-by-case basis – both on-site and in the follow-up, and in consultation with those affected. Together with our venue partners, we act as points of contact for those affected and respond to any incidents.
Everyone involved is responsible for ensuring the festival is as free from discrimination, safe and respectful as possible. We therefore ask you to:
• Be considerate of yourself, other visitors and those involved in the festival.
• Act in accordance with the principle of mutual consent – an encounter only takes place if everyone involved agrees.
• If you feel threatened, harassed or discriminated against, please speak up. On site, contact the festival team (recognisable by their Impulse Festival badges) or the staff at the ticket office (who will pass on the information).
• If you notice that someone else needs help: please check in with the person concerned. Do not take action without being asked, but do not leave it to ‘others’ to take the initiative either.
• If you wish, you can also seek information from experts and advice centres: https://www.antidiskriminierung.org/was-tun-bei-diskriminierung
We are currently working on a detailed awareness plan that addresses specific needs. You will be able to view it here as soon as it is finalised.
